Karate has tons of benefits for the body and mind, keeping you in shape while relieving stress.

Many people have been inspired by Martial Arts Movies, Netflix Series, Youtube Videos, Karate's inclusion in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, and also from pop culture icons as well. Whether you want to learn Karate for self defense, for stress relief, weight loss, coordination or just personal development; there is no better time to start than now.

Am I too Old For Karate?

A lot of people over the age of 40 start asking this question because Karate seems like a kid's activity in modern society due to the overwhelming number of After School Programs available. You're never too old for Karate because there are so many aspects of it to enjoy. Karate moves can be practiced fast or slowly, and there are huge benefits to flexibility and proper breathing techniques that will improve your health.

Many people are afraid that they are going to join Karate and get hurt. If you enroll in a lot of sparring or kumite, this increases your chances of incurring injury even with the use of protective equipment. Accidents happen when fighting at full speed even with controlled techniques.

However, you can choose to practice sparring on the heavy bags or free standing punching bags to get your cardio and practice in without injury. There's also other aspects like Kihons and Kata that you can practice to sharpen your skills and coordination, improve your speed and reflexes, and strengthen your body.

Is it possible to Learn Karate Online?

Yes! We started building our online Karate program just before the pandemic arose, then it was crunch time to try and figure out the best way to teach a huge number of people Karate online. At first, we just had members from our organization that wanted to refresh on old material so we created the portal to access it. Then, we started receiving a huge number of new requests from people all over the world. We tried teaching live lessons, but timing was different for everyone and connections weren't optimal. There was a limit on how many people could interact in live video, and it became impractical to try and coach in real time.

The best method that we found was to create in depth instructional videos and host them on the website with lots of information.

This means that you can practice on your own schedule from anywhere in the world, Internet connection permitting.

It may be difficult to learn from video at first, and I agree that a coach in real life may be more effective. However, there are so many situations in which it's not feasible and Online is a must. Online Karate lessons are also a great way to get started with the basics for anyone who would like to have some Karate knowledge under their belt prior to joining a physical Karate school It can feel very frightening or discouraging to join and not know any martial arts when the rest of the class does. I felt like that when I first learned Judo!
